What are the best plants for a north-facing or low-light Dubai apartment?
Low light does not mean no light. A north-facing window in Dubai still gives useful bright shade; a hallway with no window gives almost nothing, and only ZZ and snake plant will hold on there long-term. If you can read comfortably without a lamp at midday, most of the plants below will grow.
Ranked by tolerance: ZZ plant and snake plant first, then Chinese evergreen and golden pothos, then peace lily for flowers and the pet-safe parlour palm. Expect slower growth and plainer colour than in bright light; that is normal, not failure.
Water less in low light, since the soil stays wet longer, and rotate the pot a quarter turn weekly so growth stays even. If you want a ready-made answer, the Low-Light Survivors set pairs four of these for a dim living room.
