Made for UAE homes
Hong Kong Orchid Tree (Bauhinia) makes a room feel alive.
Bauhinia carries large mauve-purple flowers that genuinely look like orchids, on a tree that tops out around 6m — the flowering tree for a garden that has no room for a flame tree. Butterfly-shaped leaves stay on through most of the year. Flowers November to March, which is exactly when a UAE garden is being used. Full sun to light shade, deep water twice weekly, feed at the start of autumn to drive the flush.

Hong Kong Orchid Tree (Bauhinia): common questions
Why is Bauhinia called the orchid tree?
Its large five-petalled mauve-purple flowers look strikingly like orchids. The Hong Kong orchid tree (Bauhinia × blakeana) is a sterile hybrid, so it flowers for months without dropping the long seed pods other bauhinias litter a garden with.
How big does a Hong Kong orchid tree get in a UAE garden?
It tops out near 6 metres with a rounded canopy, against 10–12m for a flame tree, and its roots are well behaved: 2–3 metres from walls and paving is enough. That makes it the flowering tree for a normal villa or townhouse plot. It arrives at roughly 1.5–1.9m in a 40cm container (an estimate).
When does the orchid tree flower in Dubai?
November to March, which is exactly when a UAE garden is used. Plant it in the cool season; at this grade the first proper flowering usually comes in its second winter, and deep, infrequent watering in year one matters more than feeding.

Why buy from us
Grown for UAE homes, not just sold here.
Most plants sold in the UAE were grown outdoors, moved indoors, and handed over in a grow pot with no aftercare. We acclimatise ours to air-conditioned air first, pot them properly, insulate them against the drive, and stay on WhatsApp after the box is open.
