- Botanical name: Ixora coccinea

Compact evergreen shrub carrying dense heads of small red flowers for most of the year. One of the most planted shrubs in UAE landscaping because it takes heat, humidity and hard pruning without sulking. Bright light, water every 2 days in summer, feed monthly with an acidic feed.

UAE note: Yellowing leaves with green veins are the standard UAE complaint: alkaline soil locking out iron. Feed with a chelated iron tonic rather than more water.
