# Sea Hibiscus (Hibiscus tiliaceus)

Big heart leaves, coastal-proof

- Price: AED 119 (was AED 159)
- Availability: in stock, ships same day in Dubai on orders before 1pm
- Delivered size: approx. 90-120 cm tall · 28 cm pot (estimate)
- Botanical name: Hibiscus tiliaceus
- Pet safety: non-toxic to cats and dogs (ASPCA)

Not the bedding hibiscus — this is the coastal tree form, with large heart-shaped leaves and yellow flowers that open pale and deepen to bronze-red by evening, all in one day. Handles salt spray, wind and poor sand, which is why it holds up on Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah plots where ornamentals fail. Grows fast to 4-6m or clips to a thick screen. Full sun, deep water twice weekly.

UAE note: The coastal tree hibiscus, not the bedding one — flowers open yellow and turn bronze-red by evening, and it takes salt spray that kills ornamental hibiscus outright.
