# Desert Rose — Specimen

A collector's caudex

- Price: AED 349 (was AED 459)
- Availability: in stock, ships same day in Dubai on orders before 1pm
- Delivered size: approx. 60-80 cm tall · 32 cm pot (estimate)
- Botanical name: Adenium obesum
- Pet safety: not pet-safe — Cardiac glycosides throughout — genuinely dangerous. Ingestion affects the heart in pets and children; the sap is the traditional arrow poison of the Sahel.

A mature adenium with a thick, gnarled, deeply-branched caudex — the kind that takes a nursery years to grow and reads as sculpture on a terrace or in an entrance courtyard. Full sun, water sparingly, never let it sit wet. Sap is toxic if ingested; site out of reach of pets and children.

UAE note: A show-specimen caudex, years older than the standard size, and perfectly suited to this climate — full sun, sharp drainage, water only when dry. Toxic enough that we would not put it at toddler height.
