# Flame Tree (Delonix regia) — 30Ltr

Six weeks of scarlet, every May

- Price: AED 399 (was AED 480)
- Availability: in stock, ships same day in Dubai on orders before 1pm
- Delivered size: approx. 160-200 cm tall · 40 cm pot (estimate)
- Botanical name: Delonix regia
- Pet safety: not pet-safe — Seeds and pods cause stomach upset if eaten by dogs or livestock.

The gulmohar that turns whole Dubai streets red from May to July, supplied at 30-litre garden grade so it establishes in one season rather than five. Wide, flat canopy — plant it where you want shade over a majlis or a driveway, at least 4m from a wall, because the surface roots run. Full sun, deep water twice weekly through the first summer, then it looks after itself. Deciduous for a few weeks in late winter; that is normal, not dieback.

## Care in UAE conditions

- Watering: Deep soak twice weekly through the first UAE summer, then weekly
- Light: Full sun. It will not flower in shade
- Temperature: Thrives at 20-48°C. Briefly deciduous in late winter
- Humidity: Indifferent to humidity. Coastal wind is tolerated
- Soil: Any free-draining garden soil or sand; no clay pans
- Feeding: Balanced granular feed once in October, once in March

UAE note: Flowers scarlet May to July, exactly when nothing else does — but the surface roots lift paving, so keep it 4m clear of walls, pool decks and drive slabs.
