# Golden Shower Tree (Cassia)

Hanging chains of yellow

- Price: AED 189 (was AED 249)
- Availability: in stock, ships same day in Dubai on orders before 1pm
- Delivered size: approx. 80-110 cm tall · 24 cm pot (estimate)
- Botanical name: Cassia fistula
- Pet safety: not pet-safe — Pods and seeds are a strong laxative — keep them off the ground where dogs forage.

Cassia hangs its flowers in long pendant chains rather than clusters — a different shape to every other yellow-flowering tree here, and the reason it is worth the space. Young garden grade, so it is priced as a shrub and grows into a tree. Flowers late spring into summer once established. Full sun, deep water twice weekly, and give it a clear 3m — it widens before it heightens. Seed pods are not edible.

UAE note: The only common UAE tree that hangs its yellow flowers in long chains rather than clusters; it widens before it heightens, so allow 3m of clear ground.
