Six alternanthera — the low, dense, small-leaved plant used for the clipped edging patterns and lettering you see in UAE parks and hotel beds. Holds a line, takes shearing, and fills in fast. Use it as a border, a colour block, or in the gaps between pavers. Full sun to part shade, water every 2 days at first, then twice weekly, shear monthly to keep it tight.

UAE note: The plant behind the clipped edging patterns in UAE parks and hotel beds — it holds a line under shearing, but it wants water every other day to do it.
