# Artificial Plants

Artificial hedge plants and faux greenery for the spots where live plants struggle in the UAE: shaded balconies, north-facing terraces, rentals and offices. Look for UV-stable foliage (ordinary plastic yellows within one Dubai summer), a weighted planter for windy high-rise balconies, and a matte finish that reads as real in sunlight.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which artificial hedge plants last longest in Dubai's sun?

Hedges with UV-stabilised polyethylene foliage rated for outdoor use. Cheap panels without UV inhibitors fade to yellow-grey and turn brittle within a single summer. Partial shade, an awning, or a north- or east-facing balcony roughly doubles the useful life.

### Artificial hedge or a real privacy plant for a UAE balcony?

Choose a live screen such as Ficus or bamboo palm where the balcony gets good light and someone will water it; choose an artificial hedge for shaded corners, rentals where you cannot plant, and offices. Many UAE homes mix both: live where the light is, artificial behind it.
